what is wrong with Mozilla Firefox

ok , let me give you some back ground information .

about a month ago , i updated all my browsers to the latest versions .
[ Opera - Safari - IE - Firefox - Chrome ]

i also checked all my browser extensions - add-ons - plug-ins .
and i ran CCleaner to remove all my browser history and cookies [ except login ] .

so all 5 browsers were running just fine , no problems with any of them .

and yesterday i read this thread were a user was having problems with Firefox freezing .
his problem was so bad that he had to restart his PC to open his browser .

and he got comments from 3 other users , who were having problems with Firefox .

http://kickass.to/community...t-the-computer/#post14306660

so i decided to open Firefox , so i could make a screen shot of the extensions tab .
but Firefox wouldn't open ?

several minutes later , it did open .
but it was not responding .

many minutes later , Firefox finally opened a tab .
so i checked the condition of my 4 other browsers .
it was only Firefox that was experiencing difficulties .

well that was yesterday .
and today i went back to that same thread .
and again i needed to open Firefox , before i made my comment in that thread .

well , i tried for 30 minutes and Firefox would not open .
i even tried to open it as administrator , with no luck .

and again this problem was Firefox only .
my 4 other browsers were working just fine .

so i decided to un-install Firefox .
and there were 2 entries for Mozilla in " un-install a program " .
i only un-installed Firefox , and that also got the other entry for Mozilla Maintenance Service .

and any time i un-install a program .
i check " program files x86 " and " program data " for left behind remnants .
and i delete them .

and finally i do a search for any files related to Mozilla and Firefox .
and i delete them as well .

image

and now it is time to run CCleaner .
run both the regular cleaner and the registry cleaner .

image image image image

now it is time to go to Mozilla and download the latest version .

image image

it was version " 20 " that barely lasted 30 days ?
it is version " 21 " that i now installed .
Mozilla is a clean straight forward install .
no hidden tool-bars or ad-ware .

i always choose the " custom " install for any program .
i checked the Mozilla Maintenance Service [ was it there before version " 20 " ? ] .
and i only needed the desktop shortcut .

once Firefox has installed .
it will ask you to transfer data from your other browser .
i always decline .

so after an un-install and a clean-up , Firefox was working like a charm .
but of course i had already done this a month ago ?
and it also seemed fine then .

i did a quick check of my plugins , they were the same as before .
even though before , Firefox had stopped working .

image image

so there it is , Firefox is working again .
will it only last a month , like it did the last time ?

for 2 years , perhaps more .
Firefox slows down , then stalls and freezes up .
first just occasionally , then finally every time you use it .

and the only FIX is to un-install and re-install .
and my 4 other browser do not have these issues .

i have never had to un-install the other 4 .
and all browsers will give you that little window asking you to make them your default .

can't even think about it with Firefox ?

This might help.
First see if firefox.exe is running in the task manager, if yes then end it.
Also rename the 'C:\Users\USER-NAME-HERE\AppData
oaming\Mozilla\' folder.
Just rename the folder to "Mozilla 2" or something as this will force firefox to create a new profile.
Then see if it start normally, if it does then it's a corrupt profile error.
